Roof Types We Install & Repair

Every home and budget is different. Holmes works on shingle, tile, and metal roofing systems — plus low-slope commercial systems — across the San Antonio metro.

The Right System For Your Home

Three Roofing Systems, One Honest Recommendation

Shingle, tile, and metal roofs each have their own tradeoffs on cost, lifespan, and look — and Holmes installs and repairs all three across the San Antonio metro. We also handle low-slope commercial systems, including TPO, flat, and modified bitumen roofing.

Not sure which system is right for your home? A free inspection and a straight conversation is the fastest way to find out — no pressure toward the option that isn’t right for your house.

When To Call

When To Schedule Service, By Roofing System

Every system benefits from a free annual check, but the warning signs differ: shingle roofs show granule loss and curling edges; tile roofs show cracked or slipped tiles; metal roofs show seam separation or panel dents. If you’re not sure what to look for on your specific roof, a free inspection settles it.

Beyond Residential

Commercial Low-Slope Roofing Systems

TPO Membrane

A white single-ply membrane roofing system common on commercial low-slope buildings, valued for its reflectivity and seam-welded installation.

Flat Roofing

Traditional built-up or modified low-slope systems for commercial and multi-family buildings.

Modified Bitumen

A durable asphalt-based membrane system, torch- or cold-applied, for commercial low-slope applications.

Roof Type Questions

What Homeowners Ask Us

Which roof type is right for my home?

It depends on your budget, how long you plan to stay in the home, and what’s already on your roofline — matching an existing tile or metal system is often the deciding factor. A free inspection and conversation gives you a straight answer.

Do you work on commercial low-slope roofs too?

Yes — TPO, flat, and modified bitumen commercial roof systems, in addition to the three residential systems above. Ask about your specific building when you call.

Do all roof types carry the same warranty?

New shingle roofs carry a 15-year workmanship warranty and new metal roofs carry a 20-year warranty on our workmanship, both with free annual inspections up to 10 years, on top of the manufacturer’s own material warranty. Ask us about the specific terms for tile.

How often should a roof be serviced, regardless of type?

A free inspection once a year, or right after any major storm, catches most problems before they become leaks — regardless of whether your roof is shingle, tile, or metal.
